Window and Doors. Obviously no one wants to pay more than necessary for their new windshield.
The Fairmont had more than done its job. Its popularity was assured by an effective facelift featuring a wider horizontal-bar grille, a more prominent "beak,"
and new taillights. The View-Master was released in 1939
but was at the height of its popularity in the 1950s and 1960s.
Reels ranged from exotic vacation destinations to famous
world landmarks and popular Disney characters. Moderate initial
success prompted Studebaker to continue the car-based half-tonners
into 1938 (K-5) and 1939 (L-5), but sales lagged as, respectively, only 1,000 and 1,200
of these latter two models were built. Walter P. Chrysler accomplished his dream
-- to start his own automobile company -- and advertised his success with 15-foot chromium-nickel steel-winged radiator caps shining
from the corners of New York's tallest building. Chrysler produced an estimated 1431 roadsters,
and sold them for an average price of $1,345. Your antifreeze won't last forever, and as
it wears out, your water pump, radiator,
heater core and other components will pay the price - as will you.
Because the windshield blocks out most UV light, photochromic lenses will not darken.
An important note about photochromic lenses: because they react
to UV light and not to visible light, there are circumstances under which the
darkening will not occur.
